Ruth Wilson, Temporary Chaplaincy Pastoral Worker - Free Church

Ruth Wilson We welcome Mrs Ruth Wilson who will be available in the Chaplaincy on Wednesday afternoons, to offer Pastoral Support during Term 2 whilst Stuart Jennings is on sabbatical. She says "six years ago I was leading a pretty ordinary but happy life; I was the office manager at the Coventry Methodist Central Hall, combining my work there with my home life as a wife and a mum and singing in choirs and choral groups in the area. Then, out of the blue, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I spent the next nine months undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This caused me to reflect on my life and to write my own 'bucket list'. Top of the list was to do some 'A' levels (I hadn't done any when I was 18). I gained an Access qualification and I enjoyed academia so much that I came to Warwick in 2007 to study part-time for an English & Cultural Studies Degree. I am due to graduate in the summer of 2013. Outside of university I work for two days a week as a legal secretary and I am also training to be a Methodist Local Preacher. I am wife to James and mum to Jack (19) and our two dogs, Bonnie and Caspar! My life is still pretty ordinary, still happy, but it's very busy and very, very precious. I am delighted to be able to join the Chaplaincy Team this term to provide support and help where needed during Stuart's sabbatical. Come and find me in the Chaplaincy on Wednesday afternoons for a chat, a cuppa or a prayer."
