Do you have family or caring responsibilities?
Do you work or learn flexibly to juggle a range of commitments?
Do you have a disability?
Would you like to share your experiences?
We want to hear from you! Inspired by the Royal Society’s Parent | Carer | Scientist project, we’re creating our own booklet to showcase how staff and students all across Warwick combine their work and home commitments.
Maybe you care for your partner or have a disability yourself while studying or working. Perhaps you have a tale to tell about how your work/life balance has changed since adopting your child. Whatever your personal experience, we’d love for you to talk about it and help us to illustrate that Warwick is an institution which supports flexibility and diversity.
What do you need from me?
All we’ll need from you is a few sentences about your own Working, Learning, Living story. Click on the ‘Tell us your story’ link, fill in as much information as you like and we’ll be in touch.
What will the booklet be used for?
We’re going to post and share the booklet on the University of Warwick website, so that people considering joining the University as either a member of staff or a student will be able to find out more about who we are and what we do. We want potential newcomers to be able to read real-life stories and feel confident that Warwick is somewhere they could succeed.
Can I see an example of a story or profile?
Sure – to see the kind of thing we have in mind, check out the Royal Society’s existing project. Skip to page 24 to see Professor Dave Haddleton from our very own Department of Chemistry talking about his experiences: “Working at Warwick gave us the flexibility to put the family first without seemingly to have to compromise at work.”
When do you need my submission by?
The deadline for all submissions is Thursday 4th May 2017 If you have any questions before then, feel free to contact the Diversity and Inclusion team.
