Did you know...
  • 46% of people in the labour market are female
  • In the 16-64 age group, two-thirds of women and over three-quarters of men are in employment
  • 44% of women and 10% of men work part-time
  • 54.4% of staff at the University of Warwick are female
  • In 1970, when the Equal Pay Act was set up, the pay gap between the hourly rate of pay of women and men working full time was 36%. 30 years later, the gap remains at 18%

Legislation:

Sex is one of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. Both men and women are protected under the Act. (ACAS)

Public sector organisations are required to:
  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination
  • Promote equality of opportunity between men and women.
