Why Not Play Your Part in Bluebell Survey?

To celebrate the imminent blooming of bluebells in Tocil Wood, why not take part in the UK Bluebell Survey, coordinated by the Natural History Museum. The bluebell has been voted Britain's favourite flower and this survey is seeking to establish the effect of climate change on flowering patterns. Whether you're actually living in Bluebell Views or just enjoy the spectacular blooms across the campus and elsewhere, take a look at the Natural History Museum webpages and take part in the survey. |
Earth Hour 2012
| Earth Hour 2012 takes place on Saturday 31st March at 8.30pm. Organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Earth Hour entices hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world to unite each year to switch off lights and reduce other energy uses. Go Green Week is Here

The annual Go Green Week takes place during Week 7 (w/c 20th February 2012). An action packed week will see lively debate, film screenings, high profile presentations and plenty of opportunities to get involved in practical environmental improvements, from conservation work to green transport and artwork creation activities. DEFRA publishes top 100 climate change risks to UK

The government has recently published its Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA), identifying the top 100 climate change challenges to the UK and the economy. The CCRA looks at the impact of climate change in a series of areas, including the built environment. It is intended to provide a reliable baseline for decisions by government, local authorities and businesses to help them limit the risks and develop resilience. [More...] |
