The new Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology (CMCB) building will represent the University’s strength of ambition, its energy performance setting a benchmark for the buildings on campus that follow it.

The Estates Office has received a commendation from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for its work on the University's Nursery and café building.

The choice of location of the nursery was praised for its "views of the lake and surrounding landscape", and because the positioning of the nursery at the meeting point of well-used footpaths "enliven[s] the campus." The design of building was commended for its "flexible internal arrangement", which allows the nursery to expand into the café space when needed.

The hard work of the University's Estates team has been recognised with a regional award, as part of Britain in Bloom.

The judges were impressed with the continuing development of the landscape and exceptional grounds maintenance, which they felt was a credit to Warwick's gardeners and groundspeople.
