Estates Services

The Maintenance and Services sections of the Estates Office are directly responsible for all aspects of maintenance on the University's 200 hectare estate. This comprises more than 150 academic, administrative and social buildings together with the external fabric of all residences. In addition to the routine and statutory work, the sections also rectify in excess of 20,000 minor repair dockets each year. On-call staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When Should You Contact Us?

If you experience any maintenance faults in the University's non-residential buildings (such as flickering lights, heating, faulty air-conditioning, blocked drains, broken furniture, leaking roofs), then please let the 'Help Desk' have the details. In addition, the Maintenance and Services sections are also responsible for carrying out other minor works required within the University, for example fitting new shelves & space alteration, installing new electrical outlets or light fittings.
