Governance
The University of Warwick is self-governing and legally independent of government but subject to its policies and laws. The University operates under a Royal Charter which was established in 1965. The Charter sets out its overall constitution, and statutes, which give more detail as to how the University operates in practice. The Charter and other governing instruments for the University are set out in the University Calendar.
