Assembly Update: May 2017
A meeting of the Assembly at the University took place on 12 May 2017 to consider a motion: ‘Reforming the University’s Employment Statute, Statute 24’. Following discussion, the motion was passed with a significant majority (142 for, 3 against and 1 abstention).

The Assembly is not a decision-making body, but it is able to make recommendations to the University Council and the Senate. The motion has been orally reported at the latest Council and there will be further discussion at the forthcoming Senate (14 June 2017) and Council (12 July 2017). There will also be discussion at other meetings including Steering Committee.
