Incident Management
For guidance on dealing with a (potential) Fire Incident please select the procedures for either Main Campus or Wellesbourne Campus.
In the event of a person being exposed to a substance of significant hazard to health the Emergency Protocol should be followed.
For Maintenance issues (including paving and heating) please contact the Estates Maintenance Hotline on x22567
In case of Emergency requiring Police, Fire or Ambulance please ring Security on (024765) 22222
Accidents, Injuries or Near Misses
If an accident occurs firstly make sure that the involved people are assisted in the most appropriate manner. All accidents, incidents and near misses that occur in the University must be reported
- the report form is available as an online form - you will need to be signed in to use this form.
Please ensure that the management of the area are made aware of the incident as soon as possible, either verbally or by copy of the report form.
First Aid
Any person on the University site may suffer injuries or fall ill. The arrangements in place for First Aid mean that someone can provide them with immediate attention or call an ambulance if needed. This can save lives and prevent minor injuries becoming major ones.
If you need a first aider you can contact one close to you, either in the same building or one close by. Please see this list to find your nearest first aider. In addition all Security staff are trained First Aiders.
Fire
Fire is potentially the greatest of all risks to personnel, business continuity and property. It can spread extremely quickly producing toxic, asphyxiating smoke. Fire hazards arise from structural features, the use to which the building is put, and the behaviour of people occupying and using the building.
