Job Evaluation
About Job Evaluation
The evaluation of a job determines what range of salary is suitable for it – it shows where the job should lie on the university's grade structure. Since the implementation of the Framework Agreement in 2006, all jobs in the university have been evaluated by a single, consistent method. Evaluating jobs gives a traceable indication for their pay, and using a single method helps ensure that jobs are valued fairly across the university.
More information on the method the university uses to evaluate jobs is available here.
Getting Jobs Evaluated
- If your department has a new job to be evaluated, see the advice on evaluating new jobs.
- If you would like your job to be regraded, see the advice on regrades.
- And if you wish to appeal a recent grading decision, see the information on appeals.
Academic Role Profiles
Academic, research, and teaching jobs are not evaluated individually, but we maintain a set of the previously-evaluated descriptions of generic academic jobs, under Academic Roles.
