The Application Procedure

[c]

An application form must be completed for all posts. Supporting information (including a letter of application, a CV, etc) may be submitted in addition to an application form, but not as a substitute for it.

Applying for a Post

If you wish to apply for a post, then the following options are available.

a) Apply On-Line (Click Here)

Any supporting information (including a letter of application, a CV, etc) can be e-mailed to Recruit@warwick.ac.uk. All e-mail non-plaintext attachments must be in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF/PS, or W3C HTML (i.e. web page) format. Alternatively, you can send any supporting information by post to Human Resources. You should always include a copy of your acknowledgement (which is issued to you upon successful submission of the on-line application form) with any supporting information, in order to ensure that we can match it to your on-line application.

b) Apply with a Microsoft Word Version of the Application Form (Click Here) Microsoft Word

Either

  • complete it on your own computer, and e-mail it, together with any supporting information, to Human Resources (at Recruit@warwick.ac.uk), or
  • complete it on your own computer, print it out, and return it by post, together with any supporting information, to Human Resources, or
  • print it out, complete it by hand, and return it by post, together with any supporting information, to Human Resources.
(If doing this, then we would prefer you to use a PDF/PS version of the application form, as it consists of pre-sized boxes for your entries.)
c) Apply with an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) Version of the Application Form (Click Here) Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)

Print it out, complete it by hand, and return it by post, together with any supporting information, to Human Resources. To allow your web browser to display, and print-out, PDF files, you will, in certain cases, need to have a PDF reader, e.g. Adobe Reader, installed on your own computer. This is available free of charge from adobe.com.

d) Apply with an Adobe PostScript (PS) Version of the Application Form (Click Here) Adobe PostScript (PS)

Print it out, complete it by hand, and return it by post, together with any supporting information, to Human Resources. To allow your web browser to display, and print-out, PS files, you will, in certain cases, need to have a PS reader, e.g. AFPL Ghostscript plus GSview, installed on your own computer. This is available free of charge from cs.wisc.edu/~ghost.

If sending fully completed paper application forms and/or supporting information by post, then they should be sent to: The Recruitment Section, Human Resources, University House, The University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 8UW, United Kingdom.

You should write the post's reference number on the top left-hand side of the envelope.

Note that, in the interests of economy, a receipt for a paper application and/or for any bundle of supporting information will not be sent unless you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

If completing by hand, then your application should be typed, or you should ensure that you write clearly in black pen, so that your application is easy to read when photocopied.

Any sections of the application form that are not relevant to you, please leave blank.

It is advisable for you to retain a copy of your application for your own information.
