  • University Maternity, Adoption and Paternity Leave
The University offers excellent maternity, adoption and paternity leave to eligible members of staff.
  • Parental Leave
Parental Leave is offered by the University to give employees the right to take unpaid time off work to look after a child (aged under 5 or under 18 in the case of a child with a disability) or make arrangements for the child's welfare.
  • Time off for Dependents
Time off for dependents is offered by the University to give employees the right to take a reasonable period of unpaid time off work to deal with a sudden problem or emergency involving a dependent.
  • Childcare Vouchers
The University operates a scheme with Computershare Voucher Services (formerly known as Busy Bees) whereby employees can opt to receive childcare vouchers in return for sacrificing part of their salary. As vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from National Insurance, significant savings can be made.
  • The University's Nursery
The University Nursery is based in the Lakeside area of campus and caters for the children of staff and students.
