    We're Learning

    • Access to Learning and Development, Training Courses and Workshops
The University has a Learning and Development Centre (LDC) offering a range of resources and opportunities including workshops, accredited programmes and coaching. LDC also provide support and advice to assist with career progression and run short, informal lunchtime 'Window on Warwick' sessions. These are all free for University staff. In addition, all employees have an annual review and are eligible to apply for a contribution towards the costs of undertaking training outside of the University, including trips to Europe. Other training accessible to employees include IT training, and departmental level training.
    • Warwick Learning Account
The Warwick Learning Account enables every member of staff to have free access to undergraduate level provision and represents a significant commitment by the University to encourage and support continued staff development. Programmes are offered by Open Studies, the Language Centre and Part-time Degrees and employees benefit from a very generous entitlement of up to 60 credits, depending on the type of study undertaken.
    • Library
Employees at the University have access to the Library which has about 1.2 million printed volumes and 13 kilometres of archives in its main building and Modern Records Centre. There are also small research-only collections in the Biological Sciences and Mathematics Departments.
    • Access to Mentoring Schemes
The Warwick Mentoring Scheme aims to create partnerships, outside the normal line management relationship, where a mentor helps a mentee to enhance their performance, learning or development. An effective coach or mentor creates a relationship which enables the other to discuss the important issues that matter to them at work. The support of a coach or mentor complements rather than replaces the support of a line manager. LDC provides more information and training on coaching and mentoring at Warwick.
    • Study Leave for Academic and Research staff
Academic and Research staff are entitled to study leave and accrue one term's leave for every two years worked.
