In June 2013 the Home Secretary, Theresa May, announced that a £3,000 cash bond for some 'high risk' overseas visitors to the UK would be introduced in Autumn 2013. However, on 3 November 2013, it was confirmed in the Sunday Times that the plans for such a bond would be scrapped.
Bulgarians and Romanians, like the citizens of all other Member States (except those from Croatia, who will be subject to transitional controls until 2020), will soon be able to freely work and reside in the UK as long as they exercise a Treaty right pursuant to the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 (the 2006 Regulations).

The International Office would like to extend a welcome to all new international students. This newsletter has information on bank accounts and police registration that you may find useful as well as opportunities to take part in coach trips and stay with HOST families for a weekend to see other parts of the UK.

Immigration Advice Service
The Immigration Advice Service have added a new feature to their appointment booking page. You can now
- Telephone the International Office reception on 024 7652 3706 (internal extension 23706)
- Drop in to the International Office reception on the first floor of University House
- Complete an online booking form
Student Liaison Officer
Are you an enthusiastic and responsible postgraduate researcher who would relish the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to improving students’ access to information, advice and support across campus? Warwick’s new Student Liaison Officers, who will be based in a wide range of academic locations across campus, will be responsible for responding to enquiries from students about any aspect of University life by signposting them, if appropriate, to the relevant source of academic or non-academic advice and support. Full training will be provided.
This role is scheduled to start in the Autumn Term 2014 and will operate in term-time, week-days only.

Deadline extended to Monday 16th September
The Home Office has further been expanding its premium and priority services for out-of-country applications. Premium and priority services allow applicants to have their visa applications placed at the front of the queue once received by UK Visas and Immigration.
