How do I apply to university in the UK?
Question:
Can you tell me how I complete the admissions process for Masters degree study in your university? I am an overseas student and unfamiliar with the UK system and how I should apply to a British university. Thank you for your help.

Answer:
Hi Joy,
Thanks for your question. To apply to the University for a Masters degree here is what you should do:
- Check for course entry requirements by selecting your course from this list of Taught Masters
- Course pages usually give entry requirements for the British grading system. You can find what the equivalent grade for your country is here
![]()
- If it is not listed on the course page, you can find what English Language score you need here
(only required for non-native English speakers)
- When you are ready, you apply to the University online
. You need to register with a valid email address. You are not required to complete the entire application in one session, you can resume your application at a later stage. There is an application fee of £35.
- When you complete the online application form you will be asked to nominate 2 referees.
- When you have completed your application and paid the application fee you will be sent an email asking you to upload your supporting documents (education qualifications and certificates). At this point the University will contact your referees by email
- You will be notified by email in about 6 weeks with news of whether or not you have been successful in securing a place on your course
