A double application upgrade to SITS to version 8.4.1+8.5.0 is proposed to take place in the week commencing 7^th May 2012 (this will require a 2.0 day outage).

IT Services currently aim to patch the servers which host the Student Records application on a quarterly basis (i.e. 4 times per year). ITS recommend that the SITS operating system and database are kept up to date with both security and bug fixes, as this reduces the risk of a breach in security or an application failure. Each operating system patching will require a 1.0 day outage (although service may be restored in advance of this).

2^nd qtr patch: The proposal is for this one-day outage to take place on 22^nd, 23^rd or 24^th May 2012.
