Mobile phones for staff
Service description
This information relates to University mobile phones provided by the University to staff for use on University business ONLY.
The University has a contract with Vodafone Corporate for the supply of University mobile phones and the provision of a mobile virtual private network, Warwick MobileNet. This contract offers the following benefits:
- Cheaper call charges from the mobile - 2.7p/min to campus extensions and 2.7p/min to other landlines
- Significantly cheaper calls from campus extensions to Warwick MobileNet phones - 3.0p/min as opposed to 15p/min
- Calls between Warwick MobileNet phones Free Of Charge
- Calls from the mobile to ANY mobile on the Vodafone network Free Of Charge

The telecommunications office manages the relationship between departments and Vodafone, including billing queries and warranties, as well as supplying, maintaining and replacing mobile phones.
All new University mobile phones should be connected to the Vodafone Corporate contract.
Mobile telephones/private numbers with other service providers (including Vodafone) cannot be 'ported' (moved across) to the Warwick Vodafone Network.

The following standard requests are available subject to departmental approval:
Choose and request
a new mobile phone (staff / research postgraduate students only)- Purchase and supply accessories for a supported phone
- Switch on or off features such as the ability to send and receive email, images or video, non UK roaming and GPRS access
Availability
The ability to make a mobile phone connection is provided 24/7 (subject to the availability of Vodafone service).
