Software Licence Management
Service Description
The Software Licence Management Service provides licences for approved software to meet the University’s academic needs. The service also provides software required for the University’s core IT systems to meet the University’s business needs. We ensure that academic software is readily available to staff and students across the University via the ITS Software Download Service and the Software Asset Manager acts as a point of contact for technical support between end-users and the software suppliers. The service aims to minimise the cost to the University with respect to software licence purchases and promotes the legal use of software and compliance with licensing terms.
The Service includes:
- Identification and co-ordination of software requirements across the University... [more]

Office 2010 available on the NALITS will be making Office 2010 available on the Novell Application Launcher (NAL) from Tuesday, 20th September for any member of staff that would like to install it onto their managed desktop. Office 2010 is not a radical change from Office 2007, but has some useful extra features. There is full backward compatibility with Office 2007 document formats, so all old documents should work just fine. The move to upgrade staff to Office 2010 has been initiated to facilitate the planned move to Live@edu for e-mail. For further information about the benefits of upgrading, and a list of FAQs see the support page. |
