Assertiveness

Course Overview Dates, venues and booking

Communicating more assertively will build your confidence in handling difficult situations and get your views heard in a non-confrontational way.

Who is it for?
This is an introductory course designed for those with little or no knowledge of the subject and may also be suitable for those who wish to refresh their skills.

Session Objectives
By the end of the session you will :

  • Understand relevant concepts and models
  • Be able to identify the barriers to assertive behaviour
  • Have had the opportunity to explore a situation where you find it difficult to behave assertively
  • Have practised a range of tools in order to appropriately address the situation above

Is there anything else I need to know?
In advance of the workshop, think about a situation you would like to explore on the day. Please be prepared to talk about the circumstances at work where you find it difficult to behave assertively. Discussions within the group will be treated in confidence.
