Course Overview Dates, venues and booking


Learn a highly practical approach to managing people and supporting the performance or development of others.

Who is it for?
Academic, Level 6-9 and Research staff.

Session Objectives
By the end of the session you will :

  • Gained an understanding of coaching and mentoring, and the difference between them

  • Taken part in three coaching/ mentoring conversations

  • Explored the skills of listening and questioning

  • Practised using the GROW framework for structuring a conversation

  • Explored how feedback can usefully be stimulated

  • Considered the qualities needed to coach or mentor well

You need to identify two issues, work or non-work related, that you would like to explore in confidence during the workshop.
