The University holds a great deal of information and the protection of this data is vital to the University’s reputation and the success of the academic and operational activities. This WoW session will allow participants to gain an awareness of information security at Warwick, understand their role in data protection and apply the principles back in the work place.

The session will cover:
- The goal of information security
- The importance of information security for the University
- The legal framework around information security (including the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000)
- What information security means for individuals at the University
- Information Security Tips and discussion around how this applies to your activities
- Where to go for advice and guidance

| What will I get out of this? |
By the end of the session you will have:
- Gained an understanding of the principles of information security and will have an increased awareness of how these are applied to University information.
- Be aware of the legal requirements around data protection and freedom of information.
- Be able to reflect on your daily business activities and identify areas where information security might be improved, enhanced or considered.
