Course Overview Dates, venues and booking


This introductory course will enable participants to prepare for and practise effective presentations in the workplace.

Who is it for?

The course is designed for those with little or no experience of presenting. Priority of place will be given to those individuals who present to staff, clients, customers or other stakeholders, as part of their role and have identified a need to develop in this area.


The course is not designed for academic staff who wish to develop their teaching delivery skills. Please check the LDC website for other support in this area.

Session Objectives
By the end of the session you will :

  • Assess your current presentation style

  • Identify the key skills of delivering effective presentations

  • Choose the most appropriate visual aids to enhance your delivery

  • Deliver a formal presentation to a specified time

Is there anything else I need to know?
You will need to prepare a five-minute presentation on a subject of your choice to be delivered on the day (either personal or work-related). To apply, please email Linda Pettifor (L.Pettifor@warwick.ac.uk) stating how you believe this course will benefit you in your current role. Deadline for applications is Wednesday 30 November 2011.
