The programme is designed for people who have significant academic management responsibilities (such as heads of department or leaders of large research projects or groups) and for managers across the University, typically at grades eight or nine.

The programme is open both to newly appointed and to experienced staff. The programme is not designed for those who currently do not have significant management responsibilities. Participation is voluntary.

It is important that anyone attending the programme is open to learning new ways of managing things, and is willing to engage fully in the various aspects of the programme outlined below. In particular, participants are expected to set aside the time needed to attend the workshops and the one-to-one coaching sessions.
