Individuals and departments can apply for funding towards the cost of an externally provided workshop, course or other development opportunity.

ERASMUS Staff Training
Academic and non academic staff can travel to a European HEI or enterprise for a week.


Awards and Bursaries

Opportunity for staff and students to recognise, reward and celebrate the excellent teaching by Postgraduate Research Students. Research students can carry out a range of teaching activities including facilitating seminars, demonstrating and project supervision.

Designed to be aligned with the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme, the WATEs provide students and colleagues with the opportunity to recognise and celebrate individual excellence in teaching and the support of learning.

National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS)
Individual awards recognise and reward excellence in teaching, providing an award of £10, 000 for personal development in learning and teaching. The project strand provides institutions with the opportunity to work with National Teaching Fellows for the benefit of the institution and the wider sector. Up to £200 000 is available for a project lasting up to three years.

URSS

Undergraduate Research Student Scholarships (URSS)
Academic staff bid for a bursary to enable undergraduates to contribute to and gain real experience of research in a research intensive University.
