Warwick Awards For Teaching Excellence for
Postgraduate Research Students (WATEPGR)

Nominations are now closed. We are delighted to announce that we have received 101 nominations for WATEPGR.

The prize fund has been increased to £500 for winners, commendees will now receive £200 and all nominees will receive a congratulatory letter from Professor Ann Caesar the PVC for Education and Student Experience


About the WATEPGR scheme

The Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence for Postgraduate Research students (WATEPGR) gives students and staff the opportunity to recognise and celebrate excellent teaching by postgraduate research students. Research students can carry out a range of teaching activities including facilitating seminars, demonstrating and project supervision.

The awards aim to:

  • Recognise and reward postgraduate research students who teach or demonstrate and who have had positive impact on the student learning experience.
  • Enhance the profile of teaching excellence at the University.

All postgraduate research students who teach or demonstrate at Warwick are eligible to be nominated for an award. Five winners will each receive a prize of £500 to be spent on their academic practice and five commendees will receive £200, all nominated students will receive a congratulo
