    Postal Loans

Do I have to visit the Library to use your books and journals?
No, there is a postal loans service available for current Warwick staff and students living in the UK or Republic of Ireland only. The service does not currently cover WGA or external members of the library.

Do I have to pay for this?
Yes, the charges are as follows:

    Books

Standard postage charge of £3.50 (for packages weighing under 2kg).
Packages over 2kg will be sent by DHL and will be charged £6.50 unless exceptionally heavy.

Charges will be added to your Library record as a miscellanous fine to be paid next time you visit the Library or you can also pay on-line.

Wellesbourne staff may request books from Main Library stock using this service. The item will be sent in the internal post to Wellesbourne & can be returned the same way. There is no charge for this. Normal charges apply if you want the item to be sent via the standard postal service.

    What can I borrow?
Any Standard Loan book can be borrowed (this excludes reference, 3 Day Loan or Short Loan books). Please note that we are unable to send reserved items if there are other requesters waiting as the loan period becomes 3 days.

How long can I borrow items for?
You can borrow books for their normal loan period (there are no special loan periods for postal loans).

    How do I request items?
Requests must be sent via the on-line request form Postal Loan On-Line Request Form

    Can I renew books?
Yes, providing there are no reservations on them, books can be renewed in the normal way. Note: if the book is reserved by another user, you may be asked to return it before the due date, as normal.

    How do I return books?
Books can be returned by post using the address below. We strongly advise you to obtain proof of posting, as books remain your responsibility until they are cleared from your Library record. When returning items, please clearly mark the envelope FAO Customer Services.

Will I pay fines if I return books late?
Yes, to be fair to all users, fines are charged at the standard rates. However, we will take proof of posting before the return date into consideration. We will send an email to your Warwick email address shortly before your book is due back. You can also check the due date using the My Library section of the Library Catalogue.
