Sources for the History of Education

The Modern Records Centre's holdings of the archives of educational trade unions and other educational organisations make it a leading centre for the study of educational history. Listed below are the collections relating specifically to this subject. The name of each organisation is a link to the catalogue description of its archives. There is also relevant material in other collections. For example, both the Trades Union Congress and the Confederation of British Inustry archives include material on educational legislation and government policy, as well as on technical and commercial education, adult education and trade union studies. This material can be found in our archive catalogues by going to the sections specifically for the TUC and CBI archives and searching for 'education' within the collection.
