Before Your Visit
We strongly recommend that you contact us before a visit to use archives so that we can advise on available sources and other factors which might affect your visit. Conditions of access to the archives deposited in the Centre are determined by their depositors. These access conditions are given in the collection descriptions available from our catalogues page. If you know the precise reference of the material you wish to see, we can get it out from the strongrooms before you arrive.
You do not need to contact us in advance if you want to see a thesis or Special Collections publication, but please check our opening times.
Please note that we cannot undertake extensive research in the archives for you. If you are unable to visit, you may like to commission a member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives to undertake research for you.
