Opening Hours

What are the opening hours?

The Postgrad Hub is open Monday to Sunday, 09:00-22:00.

Is the Postgrad Hub open during vacations?

We are usually open during vacation time, but are closed on statutory holidays. Please check our Study Space page for any updates.

Who has access to the Postgrad Hub?

The Postgrad Hub is open to all postgraduate students (including those who have finished their coursework but are still accessing support services while waiting to graduate) and university staff.

You will need your University ID card to enter the Postgrad Hub. Postgraduate students and staff without current and active cards will be denied access.

Bookable rooms

The Postgrad Hub has a number of study rooms available which can be booked by postgraduate students strictly for group study use for up to 3 hours per booking.

You can check the study room capacities to select the appropriate size room for your group. Once a room has been selected, go to the room booking calendar where you can self-book the room best suited to your needs. We would ask you to please remove your booking if it is no longer needed. At certain times, it may be necessary for us to amend your booking, in which case we will endeavour to give you as much advance notice as possible.

Please check the study room guidelines in full before booking. These include:

  • Rooms are to be used by postgraduate students only
  • Rooms should not be used for individual study
  • Rooms not occupied after 15 minutes of the booking start time will automatically become available for other users
  • Please be considerate and only book times that are required
  • Repeat bookings are not allowed
  • The Postgrad Hub reserves the right to amend bookings at our discretion.

What is the purpose of the Postgrad Hub?

We provide a space for postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students to access support and resources dedicated to their needs. Postgraduate students can work and share experiences in the Postgrad Hub in the broadest context of postgraduate life, not just study.

What study space is there in the Postgrad Hub?

There are spaces for independent study and group work. Rooms for group study are bookable subject to the room booking guidelines.

Is there a silent study space in the Postgrad Hub?

The Postgrad Hub has a dedicated quieter study area to the left of the Helpdesk upon entrance, but there currently is no silent study area here.

What can and can't users do in the space?

The Postgrad Hub is a flexible space for study, group work, networking and informal and formal sessions. Group work in the form of discussion, problem-solving, brainstorming and presentation activities is encouraged, and mobile phone use is tolerated.

The Postgrad Hub is a Library-managed study space and is subject to the same rules and regulations as the Library. Details can be viewed via the following:

Is it possible to eat and drink in the Postgrad Hub?

Hot and cold drinks are allowed inside the Hub, and cold food is allowed inside the Hub. No hot food or alcohol is allowed to be brought into the space, unless this is linked to a booked event and arranged in advance. Hot food packaging in form of boxes or containers should not be taken into the Postgrad Hub regardless of whether the contents are cold. 

Are there lockers in the Postgrad Hub?

Yes, there are approximately 30 lockers available for use in the Postgrad Hub. These are available on a first-come first-served basis, one day at a time. The lockers automatically release after 10 hours and items will be removed if they are left in the lockers.

Are there printing and photocopying facilities available in the Postgrad Hub?

Yes, an IT Services printer is available for use, using standard printer credits. Scanning and photocopying functions are available through the printer.

What are the terms and conditions for using the Postgrad Hub?

When using these facilities you must comply with the University of Warwick Acceptable Use policy. See:

Users are not permitted to stream live sports or music events without headphones, or on the screens in the bookable rooms. Users are not permitted to link computer game consoles through technologies within the Postgrad Hub.

You are bound by acts of parliament including the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and the Copyright and Patents Act 1988; infringement of copyright is an offence under law. In the event of copyright infringement resulting from the use of Postgrad Hub equipment, the University will not accept responsibility where such infringement results from a failure of anyone using the equipment to understand and abide by these Terms & Conditions and their legal responsibilities.
