    Kinect-ing with our students: exploring the potential of controller free technology for learning

    Last year saw the launch of Microsoft’s Kinect: an innovative “controller free” device for the Xbox 360 which instead of using traditional handheld controllers recognises an individual’s physical movements and translates these into on-screen actions. Recognising this as one of the first developments in a new phase of computing this session will explore the potential benefits of these intuitive devices for supporting learning
