    W.A.T.E. 2011/12 - Nominate Now!

    Nominations are now being taken for the Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence 2011/12. The awards give students and colleagues the opportunity to recognise and celebrate excellence in teaching and the support of learning throughout the nominee's careeer at the University.

    The awards aim to:

    • Recognise and reward members of staff who have had exceptional impact on the student learning experience
    • Enhance the profile of teaching excellence at the University
    • Award winners and commendees with funding to further enhance practice.


    All staff who teach or support student learning at Warwick are eligible to be nominated for an award. Winners will receive an award of £5,000 and commendees receive £2,000.

    Window on Teaching autumn programme released

    Open to any student or staff member with an interest in teaching, the series covers a diverse range of topics related to Higher Education teaching and learning, from a chance to get hands-on with new technologies through to debates on the experiences of new teachers.

    The first session this term is “Teaching as a postgraduate” , taking place on Wednesday 5 October at 12 midday. Under discussion will be the support and training available from the Learning and Development Centre for Postgraduates who teach.

    Teaching and Learning Showcase 2011

    We would like to invite you to join colleagues from across the University at the Teaching and Learning Showcase on Wednesday 29th June between 10am and 3pm in the Main Library. This event will provide the opportunity to celebrate some of the excellent teaching and learning taking place across the University. The key theme for this Showcase is ‘Teaching and Learning Post-Browne’ which includes:

    • Interdisciplinarity
    • Students as Producers
    • Student Engagement
    • Employability
