MIP acts as the principal observatory of the University's national and international academic performance. Undertaking environment scanning and modelling, we produce analytics to inform major strategic developments in the University.

Liaising with external bodies and agenices, we coordinate the University's statutory student number returns the HESA, TDA and HEFCE.

Coordinating the administrative aspects of preparations for the Funding Council's national assessment of research, we support the Pro-Vice-Chancellors (Research) in conducting the annual round of meetings which aim to help academic departments enhance research performance and prepare for the Research Excellence Framework.

We manage the University's academic strategic planning and resourcing process. This includes acting as the secretariat to the Academic Resourcing Committee.

Working collaboratively with the other departments, we coordinate a range of related IT projects to advance student systems in the Academic Registrar's Office.
