Big Band

The University of Warwick Big Band meets every week to play everything from Swing to Funk and has an ever-increasing number of gigs, including regular performances to packed crowds in the Students’ Union as well as at functions such as the Graduation Ball and the Music Centre Ball.

Our recent tours have visited Spain, France, the Czech Republic and Italy, whilst the band also regularly participates in the National Concert Band Festival, often reaching the prestigious finals and bringing back awards.

The society is committed to the dual aims of playing jazz to a high degree of musicality, and simultaneously having a good time.  What’s more, everyone is welcome since the society is completely unauditioned.  Our rehearsals are informal affairs but the music is hot!  As with all Music Centre societies, an active and varied social life rounds off the experience - all the jazz you could ever need!
