Music Theatre Warwick

[c]

If you like musicals, then this is the society for you! Music Theatre Warwick has performed shows from Gilbert & Sullivan operettas to Broadway musicals, including in recent years West Side Story, Company, Assassins and City of Angels, all to sell-out audiences on campus in the Warwick Arts Centre. In the Students' Union, we now also perform several shows a year, including student-written musicals and our annual Weekend shows, where we cast, rehearse, direct, memorise and perform a show, all in 48 hours!

The Hot Box Girls strut their stuff in Guys and Dolls

Founded as the Gilbert & Sullivan Society in 1986, we have grown steadily, now producing at least two shows in the Arts Centre every year, with additional performances in the Students' Union, and social singing too, as well as concerts in the local area. We're always on the lookout for new ideas, and recent innovations included running workshops for primary schools, and staging charity dinner concerts.

Join us, whether you want to perform, direct, play in our show bands and orchestras, or get involved in technical or backstage work, and acquire the legendary cheesy social life at no extra cost! We rehearse up to three times a week, usually retiring to campus bars afterwards, and as if that weren't enough, we also organise regular social events such as outings to Union events and trips to West End shows.
