The University's Quartet-in-Residence performs one of the six quartets which Mozart dedicated to Haydn in 1785, alongside Shostakovich's 11th Quartet from 1965, dedicated to Shirinsky, the second violinist of the Beethoven Quartet, the great Russian ensemble which had premiered most of Shostakovich's quartets.
