Nela Mahony
Flute
Nela obtained her Degree at the University of Arts, in Tirana, (formerly known as The Academy of Arts), followed subsequently with her move to Johannesburg, where she settled and continued to study and freelance regularly. During her years in South Africa, she earned her MMus Degree in Flute performance, studying with Professor John Hinch at the University of Pretoria. During this period, Nela also obtained her Licentiate in Flute Performance from UNISA (University of South Africa).
Nela freelanced regularly with the Johannesburg Philarmonic Orchestra, Johannesburg Music Initiative Orchestra, Sara Gon Productions, and Kerygma Choir in Belfast, engaging in various areas of live music, from classical concerts to choral events and festivals, ballet productions, and educational projects. Before South Africa, Nela was offered the opportunity to perform for a few live TV and Theatre Productions, in her home city Tirana. She was awarded first prize in the Albanian National Competition "Songs of the Earth".
Nela had her debut performance as a soloist with the Albanian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, playing a work by an Albanian composer N.Kolloqi, and her performance was broadcast live, on RTSH, the Albanian National TV channel.
Nela has taught flute for many years in schools in Johannesburg and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her students consisted of all ages and standards, from beginner to post Diploma level, all achieving their goals, be it playing for their enjoyment or preparing for exams or orchestra auditions.
Nela now teaches at Stowe School in Buckingham, at Warwick University, and in her home studio in Warwick.
Away from music, Nela enjoys long walks with her dog, painting, volleyball, and spending time with friends over a good, strong cup of coffee.

Alison Lambert
Clarinet
Alison studied at the Royal Northern College of Music before winning a scholarship to study with Professor Wolfgang Meyer at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik, Karlsruhe, Germany.
She went on to hold the position of Principal Bass Clarinet in the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel with whom she regularly broadcast live on Israeli television and radio.
Alison is now Principal Clarinet of the English Symphony Orchestra and Longborough Festival Opera and performs regularly with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and as clarinettist for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
She has performed as a soloist with the Hallé Orchestra, Jerusalem Hillel Orchestra, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra and Collegium Musicum, Heidelberg. Broadcasts include a Radio 3 live performance of Magnus Lindberg’s Clarinet Quintet as well as orchestral appearances at the BBC Proms.
Alison has been clarinet tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama since 2003 and many of her students have gone on to forge successful musical careers themselves.

Louise Braithwaite
Oboe
Louise is a freelance oboe and cor anglais performer and teacher working with organisations including the Royal Shakespeare Company, English Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of the Swan. Her solo cor anglais performances with Orchestra of the Swan have featured on BBC Radio3 and Classicfm , and the orchestra commissioned new music for her through the Royal Philharmonic Society and Performing Rights Society Foundation for Music.
Louise is a tutor with the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and a Trustee of the innovative education ensemble The Stringcredibles. Her Community practice includes Dementia care, Education and Healthcare settings, and work with children and adults living with profound disability. She is a regular Wind sectional leader to adult leisure orchestras in the Midlands.
Her teaching style is responsive to the needs of individuals. Together with the student she identifies strengths and areas for development, supporting progress towards personal goals. This is achieved by creating a friendly, safe and encouraging lesson space in which to explore new ideas and techniques, with shared enjoyment in experimental successes and failures through musical risk taking.
As an experienced professional ensemble and chamber music performer, Louise is well placed to advise on reeds and reed making, orchestral and small group repertoire, professional tricks and tips, and to support the development of confidence and enjoyment in performance, whatever level you wish to play at.
