Gurb is responsible for the technical support of the business systems used by Research Support Services and for the development of these systems to support academic departments in their research objectives. This includes analysing user requirements, software development and testing, supporting and enhancing applications, installing and upgrading software and troubleshooting.

He is currently involved in a wide range of projects including the development of a Ethics and Research Governance system, the RAE Review database and the creation of staff web profiles from the Warwick Expertise system.
