Undergraduate Students - Study Visits

The Santander-Abbey Research Grant Fund is designed to promote student mobility between the UK and other countries/territories in which its parent company, Grupo Santander, operates. These countries/territories in the Santander ‘network’ are: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Eligibility: Undergraduate students from any discipline who:

(a)   are/will be in a country/territory in the Santander ‘network’ either on a Year Abroad, an exchange programme or an Erasmus exchange; or

(b)   are Warwick-based and can show how a study visit will enhance their coursework.

Funding available: A total of £1,000 will be available The RGF will provide a contribution towards the travel and subsistence costs, as well as other minor expenses such as photocopying, incurred in study visits carried out as part of an undergraduate student’s coursework.

Study Visits

The RGF will make awards of up to £200 to students carrying out study visits during the academic year 2009-10. Support will be available for study visits made away from the student’s main base.

Deadline

Applications should be made no later than 28 February 2010.

How To Apply

The application form (Word Document) can be downloaded or can be obtained from Helen Johnson in the International Office (H dot J dot Johnson at warwick dot ac dot uk)

Application forms should be electronically signed by the applicant by typing their name into the appropriate space on the form and then emailed to the Course Tutor. The Course Tutor should also type their name in the appropriate space to confirm their support for the student’s application.

The Course Tutor should email the application to H dot J dot Johnson at warwick dot ac dot uk with RGF Application and the applicant’s name in the subject line.

Consideration of Applications

Applications will be considered by a panel of academics and decisions will normally be announced within a month of the deadline for receipt of applications.

Final Report

Awardees will be required to submit a Final Report upon completion of their RGF award. Final Reports will be used to provide information to Santander Universities about the benefits to undergraduate students of their support and may be used to advertise the scheme. Report forms (Word Document)  are available to download or can be obtained from Helen Johnson (H dot J dot Johnson at warwick dot ac dot uk). Completed forms should be electronically signed and emailed to Helen Johnson with RGF Final Report followed by the applicant’s name in the subject line.
