Space Management

IMCWarwick's physical facilities are an asset crucial to the operation of the University. The amount, type, condition and availability of space helps shape all aspects of the University's programmes and activities. Space Management and Timetabling are the department responsible for the effective management of this valuable resource.

The Space Management team works with the University's central administration and academic departments to monitor and allocate non-residental space across the campuses. Allocations are made by the Capital Planning and Accommodation Review Group (CPARG), a committee made up of both academic and administrative staff. Data and analysis is provided by Space Management to support the decision-making processes. The section works closely with the Estates Office to maintain the room database and to produce floor plans for all buildings.

What does Space Management do?

Key responsibilities of the section include:

  • supporting academic and administrative departments in managing their space
  • data analysis and space modelling to support space allocation processes, including the Annual Accommodation Round
  • improving space usage across the University
  • refurbishment of centrally timetabled teaching rooms
  • oversight of the allocation and development of CIF2 funded projects
  • maintenance and updating of the room database (QuEMIS)
  • production of floor plans
