Summer Camps: Calling all young athletes and sports enthusiasts!
Do you see yourself as the next Andy Murray, Adam Peaty, Wayne Rooney or Toni Duggan? Are you desperate to get active over the summer, improve your skills and take the first steps towards playing on a competitive level? Or do you simply want to learn a new sport, make some friends and have an exciting and unforgettable summer holiday? Warwick Sport has the perfect solution for the summer holidays.
For six weeks over the summer, the Summer Holiday Camps are back, full of fun things to learn, tricks to master and friendships to forge. Kicking off on Monday 24 July the camps are led by local experts in their field and children from the age of 4+ will learn techniques, improve strength and speed and might even perform in a final tournament to show off all the new skills to their families and friends.
Warwick Sport’s summer holiday camps scheme now include brand new dedicated girls’ only football, which provides fun, social and engaging sessions. The long standing Junior Tennis and Climbing programmes for local youths run in partnership with Inspire to Coach, have now been extended to full day sessions, enabling further access to excellent training and facilities at the University of Warwick.
Lisa Dodd-Mayne, Director of Sport and Active Communities, Warwick Sport said:
“It’s with great pleasure that I can say that Warwick Sport is supporting people of all ages beyond the University campus to engage with sports and activity, be this through our public memberships for the sports centre or our new summer camps programme. The benefits of exercise and activity are clearly documented and researched, and we must do everything we can to support the local communities around Coventry to be active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.”
The Summer Holiday Camps will run from Monday 24 July – Friday 1 September. Choose to mix and match sports sessions, or focus on one sport specifically. Wraparound care is available 8-9am and 4-5pm. Lunchtime care is also provided and included in the price for all children booked onto full day activities. Lunch is not provided, however there are many cafes and shops across campus or you can bring your own.
