The Bear Rock and its team of qualified instructors can offer something to suit every need, ranging from tasters and inductions, through to kids' parties and holiday camps, leading lessons and/or performance coaching. The cost of hiring an instructor (up to a maximum of 8) costs £37.50 per hour plus £3.45 entrance fee per individual taking part. Inductions are for 2 climbers and can normally be completed with two hours instruction, for which the total cost is £75

 

The Centre runs two sessions for 8 to 18 year olds on both Saturday and Sunday mornings from 09:00-11:00 and 11:00-13:00, for beginners and intermediate respectively - these sessions run continually throughout the year. A number of our regular climbers in the Club have used this to help complete their individual Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.

 

We have a number of regular school groups and local businesses who use our facility. We can deliver team-building sessions, or rock climbing courses to meet National Curriculum requirements.

 

We take groups climbing outdoors from the Centre, and provide instruction in all aspects of climbing and/or mountaineering. This can be a first experience of the outdoors for individuals or groups; development for those who have already tried the outdoors. There are specific trips organised from the Centre to cater for this, but it is also possible to book an instructor through the Centre to help you achieve your own personal objectives. This could be to lead you or your group in any rock climbing, mountain leading or mountaineering capacity that you might require.
