Regency Workshop

The Regency Run 10K Runners Workshop - Sunday 22 January 2012

Hopefully you all enjoyed the Regency Workshop and are better prepared for the race on April 15th – although you still have some weeks of training to get through yet!

Many thanks to all who made the day possible, particularly, Trinty School staff, Dave Dix, Sean Lonerghan, Dave Moorcroft, Greg Howells, Stewart Lee, Russel Hall, Carol Blower and all of the coaches and runners from Spa Striders.

The pre-run warm up exercises are available on the Spa Striders web site at www.spastriders.co.uk . There will be more posted here too soon.

If you would like a more in depth analysis of your running action or help with injuries contact Greg Howells at Tudor Physiotherapy www.tudorphysiotherapy.com/ or visit a specialist running shop with gait analysis equipment such as Coventry Runner www.coventryrunner.co.uk . All participants of the workshop get a 10% reduction on purchases at the Coventry Runner for the next month.

If you would like to join the 10 week training group to better prepare you for the race check the Striders web site for details but be quick because entries close very soon. There is a £20 charge but workshop participants get a £5 reduction.

There is a 12 week schedule aimed at those who are returning to running after a break or whose target is to just be able to "run" the distance in the Training Schedules page. It presumes you are in good health but if you have any doubts seek medical advice prior to starting any exercise programme.

Finally, we would like to run another workshop in March and so are particularly keen to get your feedback on last week's workshop. What did you find interesting or not interesting? Is there anything extra that you would like us to have included? Were the arrangements convenient or not and was the charge reasonable or not? Please e-mail your views to Dave Dix at d.dix@warwick.ac.uk
