Welcome to the Department of Physical Education and Sport website where you can find all the information you need to know about the 5* sports facilities that are here at the University of Warwick. There is also useful information regarding staff, opening times, membership of our external sports schemes and a view only timetable of regular bookings and exercise classes. The slogan at Warwick is ‘Sport for All’ and the University has invested significantly in providing outstanding sports facilities designed to add value to the whole experience of studying and working at such a prestigious institution. There are 3 main sites on campus where sports facilities are situated all within easy walking distance of halls of residence and the campus itself is accessible via a number of transport links http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting The Cryfield Pavilion http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/sportscentre/facilities/cryfield/ on the South West edge of campus services over 60 acres of playing fields including 9 grass football pitches, 3 rugby pitches, 3 cricket squares and 3 lacrosse pitches. The Pavilion itself can host 23 teams in individual changing rooms and has a fully equipped social area that can be used for post match hospitality, lectures, meetings and conferences. The Westwood http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/sportscentre/facilities/westwood/ area of campus is designed as a mini sports village and has a 3 court sports hall with lecture facilities, changing rooms and physiotherapy areas, 3 artificial pitches, an athletics track, an indoor tennis centre plus floodlit outdoor courts and a grass American Football Pitch. The Main Sports Centre http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/sportscentre/facilities/maincampus/ is situated in the centre of the campus. It houses a 25 metre, 6 lane swimming pool plus sauna, 6 squash courts, the Bear Rock Indoor Climbing Centre and specialist ‘Bouldering Room’, the Running Bear Fitness Suite and specialised and recenty refurbished and upgraded Strength and Conditioning Room, two 4 court sports halls, an Aerobics Studio, Activity Room and physiotherapy room. There are 70+ sports clubs at the University and these are overseen by Warwick Sport http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/warwicksport/ a joint venture between the Department of Physical Education and Sport and Warwick SU.
