Lifelong Learning

Aims and objectives

The aims and objectives of the Centre for Lifelong Learning are:

  • co-ordinating, developing and ensuring the effective delivery of the University's lifelong learning programme;
  • championing lifelong learning internally and externally and encouraging academic departments and external organisations, including partner colleges, to engage with and contribute to the provision;
  • bringing forward initiatives and responding to government proposals on widening participation and lifelong learning;
  • acting as a focal point for external links and networks with local, regional and national organisations with an interest in lifelong learning;
  • providing support in curriculum design and delivery for lifelong learning courses;
  • engaging in research and consultancy which directly inform and strengthen the Centre's practice.
