Frequently Asked Questions

I am worried about the level of qualifications that I currently have. Will I be considered?

For any of our undergraduate courses, the answer is yes. There are no formal requirements for our Gateway to HE, 2+2 degree pathway, part-tme undergraduate BA and foundation degrees. Applicants will be considered on the strength of their individual application, experience, and performance at interview.

I am currently studying for a degree elsewhere. Can I transfer to CLL on a part-time basis?

It depends which course you are doing and which course you would like to study with us. The University’s Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) procedure offers further information and you should also talk to the relevant Course Selector - please use our Staff page and select the appropriate subject area from the drop down list under "Course Teams" to find out who to contact. Please note that APL is NOT available for our BA (Hons) Person-centred Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship degree.

It is sometimes possible to transfer credits from a postgraduate diploma to go towards a masters degree. However, it depends on the course and when the qualification was taken. Current students can explore upgrading their qualification with their personal tutor.

I have a Bachelor’s degree but do not hold a GCSE in Maths and/or English. Can I apply for a postgraduate course?

It depends on which course you would like to study. Some postgraduate courses require these qualifications such as MA Social Work. For our Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Further Education and Skills Sector), you are required to have a grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification, in English and Maths. The information about specific entry requirements should be included on the course page - please visit the Courses section for details.

How do I know if there are any places left available on a course?

As long as applications are still open, places will still be available. This holds true for our short courses as well as degrees.

Are my O-Level qualifications still valid?

Yes.
