Transforming Technologies: teaching and learning in the digital age

adult learners using ITTechnology permeates all areas of our lives, including education. In this short course we will consider a range of technology enhanced learning tools and methods. This will include study and discussions related to how technology can be used to enhance and enliven face-to-face, blended and distance learning.

We will critically consider technology trends and tools for communication, collaboration, and e-assessment. We will also consider the role of social media and recent rise of the MOOC.

This programme will be delivered completely online so you can take part at a time and place to suit any existing schedule and commitments. There will be weekly discussions, activities and optional live webinars. There will also be plenty of chance to share experiences and to learn from each other.

Assessment

Assessment (10-week accredited route only) will be by a written assignment, blog post or eportfolio submission (2000 words). This will give you an opportunity to reflect on the knowledge and experiences gained during the course and to investigate and critically consider a technology-enhanced learning tool (or tools) of your choice.

Additional requirements

Participants will need access to a PC, Laptop, Tablet or similar Internet connected device. To participate in the optional weekly live sessions headphones and a webcam device may also be useful.
