Management of Student Work Experience

These programmes are a unique collaboration between the Career Studies Unit and relevant professional bodies including the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES) and the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE). They are designed to integrate cutting-edge theory and practice, and offer continued professional development to a wide range of staff involved in student work experience. The programmes provide evidence in support of the National Occupational Standards for Career Development (LLUK/LSIS).

The courses enable practitioners to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to the following key areas of professional practice:
• Working with students and employers as users of the service, with particular reference to supporting work-related learning.
• Working with educational institutions to establish links between the curriculum and student work experience.
• The operational and strategic management of services to support work-related learning, in the current policy context.
