Module details

The free-standing module will be helpful for any student wishing to proceed to the Foundation and BA(Hons) Degree in Person-centred Counselling and Psychotherapy.

It compares the Person-centred approach to Counselling to the Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural models, exploring some of the key elements of the theoretical backgrounds. There will be opportunities for engagement in the reflective learning process, both as an individual and as a member of the group.

It is taught by Tessa Roxburgh and Sarah Ashworth who both work professionally as counsellors.

Assessment will be a joint continuous process with feedback from the tutors and, on completion, students will be awarded 10 credits at FHEQ level 4.

It runs on Thursday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30 pm on the Westwood Campus and registration information for the module, which is offered termly, can be obtained by clicking the 'Book online' button in the right-hand column (only visible when registrations are being accepted).

Please note the Summer term is now fully booked, registration for Autumn 2012 will open on 1st August 2012.
