The Essential Skills Resource Centre was established in 2003. We are a Skills for Life professional development centre based in the Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of Warwick. Our principal aim is to provide support, guidance, training and resources to those involved in the delivery of adult literacy, language and numeracy.

We aim to offer a professional, flexible and friendly service for all. Our small team works hard to meet the specific needs of the organisations and individuals with whom we work and we aim to both deliver high quality training and support and share existing good practice around Skills for Life. We also encourage and support innovative practice, designing and delivering new programmes, embracing challenges in the field and responding positively to the ideas of practitioners. Our work and contacts at both local and national levels mean that we can keep you up to date with the latest training and resources as well as capitalise on opportunities that arise. Above all else, we are passionate about teaching and learning and hope that our work enhances and supports the development of Skills for Life for all in the sector.
