Exciting Development for 2012! - NEW accelerated DTLLS and Additional Diploma courses

 

New Qualifications for the sector

From September 2007, there have been new qualifications for teaching in the lifelong learning sector. Please see the National Reference Point for Skills for Life Teaching for further information about the changes in the sector and the new qualifications.

The Essential Skills Resource Centre offers the subject specialist qualifications in adult literacy, language and numeracy. This year we will be offering:

PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) - 6 week course for those new to teaching

  • PTLLS

Additional Diplomas - NEW 7 MONTH course for those with a generic teaching qualification

  • Open Studies Diploma Adult Literacy Specialists
  • Open Studies Diploma Adult Numeracy Specialists

DTLLS (Diploma for Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) - NEW 15 MONTH course for those without a generic teaching qualification

  • Open Studies Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (English Literacy)
  • Open Studies Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (Mathematics Numeracy)

Partly Qualified FE Teachers - including Skills for Life Teachers

  • The opportunity to becomne fully qualified in one year

In addition, the Centre offers the following, related courses:

  • E-Learning for Teachers and Trainers
  • CPD / Skills based training and workshops (see 'local training' for more information)
